Luckily, you can override the invisible fov by using the fov override option in your in-game settings. (For example, if you were trying to sneak up on someone) This is a bit of a serious issue if you were doing something that required you to see what you were doing. The invisible fov apparently can move, but can’t be moved by you. It looks like the problem is some invisible station in the game that may be triggering a fov, or just making it so you can’t place objects in a room unless it is visible. I’ve been doing a bit of research on this. I did check that I still have the backpack saved, and it still has the active sapper. This happened just once on my first try, and I’ve tried multiple times since without any more incident. When it did, the entire backpack was animated as if something had frozen its contents, and an alarm about an active AI unit went off. I noticed that right after the game finished loading, I found myself unable to loot the backpack, so I killed it in a panic and it died.
